How our guides are written and reviewed
Every guide starts from primary sources: federal rules such as the Fair Housing Act and HUD guidance, the ADA and the Air Carrier Access Act, and each state's own statutes, which we link at the bottom of the page.
A licensed professional counselor writes the guide, a licensed clinical social worker reviews it for clinical accuracy, and each page shows when it was first published and last updated. When a law changes, we update the page and its date.
Our guides are general information, not legal advice or a diagnosis. Whether an ESA or PSD letter is right for you can only be decided in an individual evaluation by a licensed mental health professional.
